 __________________________________________________________________________

Citizens Committee for New York City awards grants to groups of neighbors working collaboratively to improve their communities. The grants are specifically for groups based in low income neighborhoods across the city.

Recent awards have enabled neighbors to come together to make healthy food available in their communities, transform empty lots into community gardens, organize tenants to advocate effectively for better housing conditions, and start school recycling programs.

We do not award grants to individuals, agencies with paid staff, religious, fraternal, or partisan organizations. Click here to review our grant guidelines.

In addition to grants, we offer groups project planning assistance and skills building workshops to increase the effectiveness of their community improvement projects.

For more information about our grants, project planning assistance, and workshops, contact Arif Ullah or Saleen Shah at 212.989.0909 or grants@citizensnyc.org.
